Jesse Lingard will have no shortage of suitors if his Manchester United contract expires.

According to ESPN, the England international is wanted by Barcelona and AC Milan as he edges closer to the end of his current deal at Old Trafford.

Lingard is reportedly considering his options amid ongoing contract talks with the club, including opportunities to move abroad in Italy and Spain.

With two massive clubs named so far – Barca and Milan – it looks like Lingard is seen as an opportunist buy. They get a hungry player who works hard and changes football matches for free.

Lingard would likely walk into both of their line-ups, too.

Rob Dawson of ESPN writes: “The opportunity to sign an experienced England international on a free transfer during a time when finances have been restricted because of the coronavirus pandemic has made Lingard an attractive prospect for a number of Europe’s top clubs.”

The report adds Lingard has already rejected a contract offer tabled by United over concerns he may not get enough game time to keep his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Lingard will be aiming to make the England squad for next year’s World Cup.
