Bruno Fernandes is a fan-favourite at Manchester United for many reasons, with his brilliant ability on the pitch being the main factor, obviously.
In addition to his dazzling skills, he also seems to get on well with just about anyone at the club, with banter on social media among the first-team squad an everpresent.
That seems to have come way before he made the move to Manchester, however, as he has now revealed he has developed a friendship with Leeds star Raphinha after the pair were separated. Fernandes and Raphinha played together at Sporting before the Brazil international completed a switch to French outfit Rennes.
Raphinha signed for Leeds a year later whilst Fernandes had joined United a year prior, but according to United’s midfield maestro himself, they immediately hit it off and has even admitted to missing him.

“I miss Raphinha,” Fernandes is quoted as saying by The Sun. “He is a player with whom I had a different chemistry from the others, he understood me at a glance.”
In the age of social media, it won’t take long before Fernandes’ latest quotes will get twisted into the newest transfer gossip of the week but with the rivalry with Leeds finally rekindled, it’s hard to see them letting their star player join United.
Raphinha received his first call-up to the Brazil senior squad earlier this month and revealed that he had been in touch with Fernandes: “Bruno congratulated me a lot,” he said.
“He told me that I deserved it so much, that I had been deserving it for a while. This happens with friends who talk a lot, more intimacy like that, more jokes.
“But he praised me a lot, congratulated me. He said he wasn’t surprised at all by what was happening and what would happen.”
