(Video) Bruno Fernandes says Man Utd ‘once again’ make second-half mistake

After finding themselves on the losing side against Aston Villa last weekend, Manchester United found their way back to the winning track as they overcame Villarreal in the Champions League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side failed to bring that momentum with them into the Premier League as they fell short at Old Trafford once again, with Rio Ferdinand being particularly scathing in his assessment.

Anthony Martial’s first-half opener gave United the lead going into the interval but a refreshed Everton came back fighting after the interval, eventually finding their equaliser through Andros Townsend.

An impressive cameo from Jadon Sancho wasn’t enough for United to regain their lead and Bruno Fernandes, captain on the day, has now admitted they made the mistake of slowing down in the second half ‘once again’.

“Of course,” he told club media when asked if the result was frustrating, as seen above. “I think it’s really difficult for us. I think we play really well first half, created a lot of chances.

“Second half, we slow it down again. Once again, we make that mistake. We have to learn, we have to learn. The time is now, we cannot do this anymore. We did it so many times, we cannot slow the game down when we’re winning.

“We have to make it quicker, score once again, one, two goals. After, okay, you can slow it down and make them run a little bit more. But we have to carry on now.”
