Gary Neville names his favourite current Man United player

After being asked which current Manchester United player is his favourite by a fan on social media, former defender Gary Neville has admitted he loves watching young attacker Mason Greenwood in action.

Greenwood, 19, has been one of the hottest prospects to ever come out of the United academy.

Having forced his way into the club’s senior first-team, Greenwood was awarded his competitive debut in March 2019.

Since then, the young Englishman has gone on to feature in 112 senior matches, in all competitions, directly contributing to a hugely impressive 42 goals, along the way.

Reacting to what has been a massive breakthrough two-and-a-half years in England’s top-flight for the 19-year-old, one person who has been more than impressed by the attacker’s development, has been Neville.

Taking to Twitter to answer a fan, who asked which player from the club’s current set-up is his favourite, Neville replied with a simple “Greenwood by a long way!”

The fact that one of United’s youngest senior players is earning such high praise from one of the club’s all-time greats only serves as testimony to how well he has performed, consistently, on the biggest of stages since his breakthrough a couple of years ago.

Long may it continue.
