Aston Villa star offers injury update ahead of Manchester United clash

John McGinn was considered a doubt for the game against Manchester United this weekend after suffering a blow to the head against Everton.

The midfielder was substituted a half an hour after the incident and played through dizziness, which is rather worrying, but Aston Villa have confirmed McGinn would be available for selection on Saturday.

McGinn took to Twitter to ease fans’ minds by offering a reassuring message to his followers. He tweeted: “Heed fixed. See you tomorrow #UTV”.

United were happy to face West Ham last week without Michail Antonio, who was suspended for the match, so we can’t have it all our way with Villa missing one of their best players.

The Scotland international is a shred operator in the middle of the mark and pulls the strings for Dean Smith’s side.

He started the season well with a goal against Watford and has also been a standout performer in games against Newcastle and Chelsea.

While Villa have McGinn back fit, Manchester United loanee Axel Tuanzebe cannot play on Saturday which will come as a blow for Smith.
