Preview: Manchester United vs Newcastle United – Ronaldo debut

Manchester United will be looking to move to the top of the Premier League table when they take on Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds go into the match on the back of a 1-0 victory over Wolves at Molineux prior to the international break, whilst the Magpies drew 2-2 with Southampton at St. James’ Park.

Cristiano Ronaldo is widely expected to make his highly anticipated first appearance in a reds shirt since rejoining the club from Juventus and fellow new signing Jadon Sancho could also be handed a place in the starting eleven after featuring against Wolves last time out.

In what is likely to be an exciting occasion I’m sure, I speak for many in saying I can’t wait to see Cristiano Ronaldo back in a Manchester United shirt. Twelve years may have past since Ronaldo last played for United, but the memories are still fresh in the minds of many and when he walks out onto the Old Trafford turf on Saturday he will undoubtedly get a tremendous reception from the reds and even now at 36 years old he is still one of the best players in the world.

Newcastle have made a poor start to the season thus far having lost two and drawn one of their opening three Premier League fixtures and this is game the reds will undoubtedly go into as favourites. Having already conceded eight goals thus far Newcastle’s defence isn’t the strongest and is there to be got at and with the likes of Fernandes, Pogba and now Ronaldo all expected to start Manchester United should have too much for Newcastle and take all three points.

It wont be a walk in the park by any means but this is a game Manchester United should win and if the reds can grab an early goal then I think they will do comfortably.

Prediction: Manchester United 3 Newcastle United 0
