Manchester United organise behind-closed-doors friendly next week

Manchester United will play a behind-closed-doors friendly match next week, according to reports.

The Athletic claims that United will organise a friendly match in order to aide the fitness of those that won’t be departing for internationals.

Phil Jones is one of the players likely to get more minutes after featuring in a recent behind-closed-doors friendly with Burnley at Old Trafford.

It must be difficult for United to try and find Jones a new club because he hasn’t been able to prove his fitness thanks to a dodgy injury record.

And, for the player himself, he must miss getting out on the pitch and playing competitive football?

There was no pre-season tour this summer, with United staying in the UK to get a handful of friendlies under their belt, so more friendly games are a good idea.

Especially for those who won’t be representing their countries in the upcoming international break.
