Manchester United have positioned themselves in ‘pole position’ to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund next summer, thus becoming frontrunners in the race for his signature.
That’s according to German outlet BILD, via Sport Witness. The 21-year-old has enjoyed a staggering rise to the top in the past two years and could be set to leave Dortmund in less than 12 months.
According to the outlet, Haaland ‘will surely part ways’ with Dortmund next summer and there is expectance that his agent, Mino Raiola, will flaunt his release clause in front of Europe’s leading clubs.

Manchester United are named in ‘pole position’ and it will be familiar reading for many supporters, having seen the former Molde star reject a move to Old Trafford in favour of a switch to Dortmund in January 2020.
The striker will have spent two-and-a-half seasons at Dortmund when next summer arrives and despite the constant development of Mason Greenwood, there is a feeling that an Edinson Cavani-shaped hole next year will need to be replaced somehow.
Any move for Haaland next summer is, however, likely to be contested by several other clubs as one of Europe’s hottest properties prepares for a potential exit.
