Exclusive: Brandon Williams expecting to join Norwich City after Southampton game

Brandon Williams in action for Manchester United.

Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams is close to joining Norwich City on loan.

Williams, 20, has been with the Red Devils’ his entire career after joining the club’s illustrious youth academy all the way back in 2008.

After forcing his way through the youth ranks, the young Englishman went on to make his senior debut in September 2019.

However, despite initially impressing, the 20-year-old has struggled to nail down a place in manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans and has rarely been given consecutive senior opportunities since the end of the 2019-20 season.

Having made just four appearances in the Premier League last season, Williams’ campaign was largely seen as a step backwards.

However, following recent reports that the defender is close to joining newly promoted Norwich City on loan (Sky Sports), Stretty News understands that although a move has yet to be finalised, there is a growing belief an agreement will be reached sooner rather than later.

A close club source has revealed to us that the player is hopeful his impending move to Norwich City will become official after the Red Devils’ league fixture against Southampton on Sunday.
