Bookies slash odds on Bruno Fernandes winning Premier League Golden Boot

Following his incredible opening day hattrick performance against rivals Leeds United, online bookmakers have slashed their odds on Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes winning this season’s Premier League Golden Boot.

Prior to a ball being kicked on the opening weekend, Fernandes was 25/1 to be crowned the Premier League’s top goalscorer.

However, following an impressive hattrick against Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites, which has seen the Portuguese midfielder take an early lead in the goalscoring standings, online bookies now rate his chances at just 6/1.

There are only three players ahead of Fernandes – all of whom play across their side’s front lines.

Liverpool’s Mo Salah is the outright favourite at 4/1, Chelsea’s new signing Romelu Lukaku is 9/2, with a decent 5/1 slapped on Tottenham Hotspurs’ Harry Kane – although the England skipper did miss his side’s opener against Manchester City.

Mohamed Salah 4/1
Romelu Lukaku 9/2
Harry Kane – 5/1
Bruno Fernandes 6/1 (was 25/1 before the start of the season)
Jamie Vardy – 16/1
Heung-min Son (20/1)
