Leicester City are lining up a move for Jesse Lingard if James Maddison leaves the club this summer, according to reports. Lingard is back at Manchester United and has featured heavily in pre-season.
Arsenal are said to be interested in Maddison this summer and should Leicester part ways with the attacking midfielder, it’s believed that Brendan Rodgers will try to replace him with Lingard.
That’s according to Football London, who claims that negotiations between Leicester and Arsenal for Maddison are ‘very slow’ and like ‘a game of chess’.

Lingard, who missed last week’s win over Everton due to a positive COVID-19 test, enjoyed a stellar second half of the campaign under David Moyes at West Ham.
The 28-year-old scored nine goals and assisted a further four in just 16 appearances, earning him a recall to the England camp in March before being named in Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man squad for this summer’s European Championship.
