There’s a ‘quiet confidence’ that Raphael Varane will join Manchester United this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

It is believed that once personal terms are agreed between United and Raphael Varane, the Reds will move on with a deal by opening dialogue with Real Madrid.

Raphael Varane returned to Madrid’s training complex earlier today to complete a medical, although he left early and without training with his team-mates.

Now with Jadon Sancho signed up, United fans will want to see the club get a deal over the line for Varane as soon as possible to allow him get some minutes under his belt during the pre-season.

There’s no smoke without fire and I think Varane would have made it clear by now if he wanted to stay at Real Madrid.

It would be a fantastic signing to truly bolster our defence.
