Luke Shaw’s resurgence story last season was one of the main talking points of the campaign. The 26-year-old took his game to another level as he ended the season as the team’s Players’ Player of the Year.
The defender’s impressive performances also earned him a recall to the England fold, having not featured for his national side since 2018. Despite well into his mid-twenties, Shaw had made just eight appearances for England before his return to the side in March this year.
Shaw’s form also earned him a spot in last season’s PFA, LWA, and Premier League Team of the Year before playing a pivotal part in England’s run to the Euro 2020 final, in which he scored the Three Lions’ only goal.

Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies was mobbed during a TikTok Live session as Manchester United fans commented ‘Luke Shaw is clear’.
Not fully in the loop with slang, Davies asked the crowd what they meant and was swiftly met with an explanation – it means that Shaw is the better player.
“That means he’s better?” a giggly Davies responded.
“Oh! Oh, OK, I get it now, it means he’s better. Yeah, I mean, he’s a really good player!”
