Manchester United are enjoying one of their busiest summers in recent history in terms of incomings. Tom Heaton has already been signed on a free transfer, Jadon Sancho is set to be announced imminently and a deal for Raphael Varane is progressing each passing day.
On top of that, the club is pursuing a deal to sign Kieran Trippier whilst interest remains in Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
On the flip side, there are question marks over some of the players at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s disposal, and none more so than Paul Pogba. The midfielder has been vocal in his wish to leave the club since 2018 but a move has never materialized.
The 28-year-old has just one more year remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford and is eligible to sign a pre-contract with foreign clubs in just six months.
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are now ‘under pressure’ to sell the defender in the next six weeks before the transfer window closes.
It is claimed that Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, is in discussions with Paris Saint-Germain over personal terms and that the former Juventus man has shown no inclination towards committing to a long-term future at Old Trafford.
Should Pogba stay at Old Trafford for another season, it is likely he will leave the club for nothing for the second time in ten years. It would be especially embarrassing for Manchester United this time after investing £89m on his signing in 2016.
