Andreas Pereira spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Lazio after falling out of favour at Manchester United. The midfielder was sporadically used by then-manager Simone Inzaghi but is keen on a return, by his own admission.
Pereira featured 26 times for Lazio in the league but only three appearances were from the start. The Rome side did, however, qualify for European football next season and have been exploring the possibility of bringing Pereira back for a second loan term.
The 25-year-old is keen on a return to the club but if a move materializes remains to be seen. Pereira played the second half of United’s 2-1 win over Derby last week and is expected to feature regularly over the course of pre-season.
“Rome could be my definitive home, I had a great time,” Pereira told gianlucadimarzio.com.
“At Lazio, I always gave my best in the time I was allowed. I think my performance could be better if I had more minutes and more freedom to play. When you come in at the end of the game, the task you have to do tactically is not the best
“I would like to return to the Biancoceleste if I was given more time”
Despite his involvement this summer, Pereira is not expected to be a first-team regular under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer next season. Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek, Paul Pogba, and Jesse Lingard are all ahead of him in the pecking order, which could open up the door for an exit.

What the hell is Pereira still doing at O.T.? we are stacked with players like this, FFS Ole get rid of at least 6 of them, our wage bill for players who dont even make the bench is silly……..Why does it go on like this ?
