Jadon Sancho’s move to Manchester United is two years in the making but despite an agreement being announced nearly three weeks ago, the transfer is yet to be finalized.
Official confirmation of the deal being completed has been held up by Sancho’s involvement in this summer’s European Championship but with the tournament now over, the 21-year-old is free to complete his return to the Premier League.
Sancho underwent a medical at Carrington earlier this week and no reports have suggested that any issues arose during the examinations.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now confirmed that the deal will be confirmed soon, with only ‘paperwork’ left before the club can put their name to the agreement. That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, who cite Solskjaer’s comments after United’s 2-1 win over Derby.
After losing the Euro 2020 final last week, Sancho is now expected to go on holiday for three weeks before returning to the club in the first week of August. He is expected to be involved in United’s final pre-season game against Everton before hopefully featuring against Leeds the next week.
