Reports on Saturday morning coming out of Spain had suggested Manchester United and Real Madrid have reached an agreement, believed to be within the region of €58m, for defender Raphael Varane.
The initial reports came from Spanish outlet ABC (as relayed via Rai Sport).
It was claimed that the French defender had agreed to sign with the Red Devils on a five-year contract that would see him earn €12m-per season.
However, despite the exciting claims, StrettyNews can exclusively confirm that those reports are still somewhat premature.
A source close to the player has confirmed that no agreement has been reached, however, although there is no deal in place, one is still expected before the end of the summer transfer window.
A second source, who works closely with the Real Madrid first-team, has revealed to us that they fully expect the highly-rated defender to move to Manchester United this window, but after confirming the player is currently on holiday, has also admitted a deal is unlikely to be done quickly.
