Manchester United winger set for Championship loan

According to recent reports, Manchester United winger Taith Chong is set to join Championship side Birmingham City on loan.

That’s according to Daily Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath, who claims the Dutch attacker is on the verge of sealing yet another loan move.

Chong, 21, joined United’s illustrious academy in 2016 following a free transfer from Feyenoord’s youth set up.

Despite being one of the club’s most highly-rated youngsters during his teenage days, Chong has since struggled to nail down a first-team place.

Having made just 16 first-team appearances, in all competitions, Chong has been allowed to join the likes of Werder Bremen and most recently Club Brugge on loan.

Despite now being back with the club, according to McGrath, Chong is set for a quick turnaround and is expected to spend next season on loan with Birmingham City.

Chong only has 12-months left on his contract and therefore it is reasonable to assume next season will be a key season if he is to remain a Red Devil beyond 2022.
