Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United remains up in the air and with just one year remaining on his contract, there are several interested clubs. The 28-year-old first publicly revealed his desire to leave the club in 2018 but has remained until now.
Pogba, who enjoyed his best season at the club last term, continued his fine form into this summer’s European Championship but was dealt a heavy blow as France were eliminated in the round-of-16.
Les Bleus’ exit from the tournament has accelerated rumours about Pogba’s future but Manchester United legend and treble winner Teddy Sheringham has now urged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make a decision on Pogba’s future.
“He’s got a year to go and could go on a free at the end of that and go and get himself absolute fortunes, as if they don’t earn enough money already,” Sheringham is quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.
“I think if Man United or Ole got vibes that that’s what he was going to do then I’m sure he’d try and sell him now and try and get as much money as he could for him now. Whether that’s the right thing or the wrong thing to do?
Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested in the Frenchman but an official bid is yet to be lodged. Manchester United will be keen to avoid a repeat of the scenario which saw Pogba leave in 2012. Losing him on a free transfer once can be considered a slip-up, but twice would be unforgivable to many supporters.
