Fabrizio Romano reveals Man United closing in on signing £25m French wonderkid

Manchester United are reportedly ‘progressing’ in their pursuit of Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

That’s according to leading football journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has recently revealed that the Red Devils’ hierarchy has been long-time admirers of the Frenchman.

Camavinga, 18, joined Rennes’ youth academy all the way back in 2013.

Since climbing through the club’s youth ranks, Camavinga has gone on to become one of his side’s most important players.

After enjoying a hugely impressive breakthrough, the highly-rated teenager has gone on to feature in 82 senior matches, in all competitions.

Most interestingly though, with just 12-months left on his current deal and with no signs of renewal, there are now growing concerns that the midfielder could be set for a big summer move.

Despite being previously linked with a stunning switch to Paris-Saint Germain, according to Romano, it is actually Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils that are leading the charge to secure his signature.

Romano claims that a deal within the region of £25m (€30m) could be on the cards.

This news comes just days after the club announced they have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for winger Jadon Sancho.
