Manchester United youth team goalkeeper Nathan Bishop has signed for League Two side Mansfield on loan for the 2021/22 season. He will be playing his football under Nigel Clough.

The move should grant the youngster an opportunity to play regular first team football, in a tough environment, and one Manchester United clearly believe will help him grow into a better goalkeeper.

Bishop joined the Red Devils from Southend United in January 2020 after making 39 appearances for their first team. He came to United and has worked on his development alongside the likes of David de Gea and Dean Henderson.

His loan move have been confirmed via ManUtd.com.

He will remain with United for their pre-season preparations.

Although I am not fully convinced by our goalkeeper situation right now, simply because it remains unsolved, it would be an almighty ask to expect him to challenge for a first choice role at Old Trafford with David de Gea and Dean Henderson still on the books.
