Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek’s futures at Manchester United have been thrown into doubt, according to reports. Martial has dropped down the pecking order under Solskjaer recently and Donny van de Beek was limited to just four starts in the league last season.
Martial was the club’s top goalscorer in the 2019/20 season but endured his least productive season this term, scoring just four goals in the league. Edinson Cavani’s one-year extension and the imminent arrival of Jadon Sancho could mean that United are ready to let him go.
According to ESPN, inquiries made for Martial and Van de Beek have been met with a response from the club that “every player has a realistic valuation.”
ESPN go on to say that offers for squad players will be considered this summer, but that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects the bulk core of his squad to remain at Old Trafford.
Anthony Martial will have his work cut out for him, having only just recovered from a knee injury and is expected to join the team for pre-season preparations next month. Donny van de Beek, who also missed this summer’s European Championships due to injury, will also be hoping to make a lasting impression ahead of the new season.
