Manchester United could finally land Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund after over a year tracking the player.
It looks like the England international, waiting on his first minute of action at Euro 2020, is central to United’s summer transfer plans with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to add a right winger to his attack.
A year after a tiresome saga, United and Dortmund are finally sitting down to negotiations. There wasn’t a lot of that 12 months ago – other than interest in the player as well as an understanding that the Bundesliga club were asking for too much money.
Now we finally look set to sign Sancho.
“I’m cool about it,” Sancho said, in response to a question over his lack of playing time at the Euros. “There’s always going to be speculation, especially when you do well.
“It’s just how you handle that on the pitch. You’ve got to keep doing what you’re doing, if you keep on doing that then I’m sure that won’t be a problem.
“The main thing is my football and that’s what I’m focusing on at the moment.”
At the weekend, reports from the Daily Mail stated United had submitted an improved bid for the winger, a fee of £75 million.
United sources consider a deal to be more likely than it was last year, and they’ve certainly made efforts to speed up the process. Now it’s time to cross the line and to officially make Sancho a United player.
With months remaining in the transfer market, the signs are promising and that is reflected in the betting markets. Also, it’s not as if Sancho is busy on the pitch at Euro 2020. To a point I think it could be possible to get a deal done during the tournament – especially with Dortmund.
William Hill place United as firm favourites to land Sancho, with Solskjaer’s side given a 1/10 likelihood of bringing the 21-year-old to Old Trafford. Anywhere else and you would be backing a long shot, even a return to Man City is priced at 33/1. If you prefer virtual trips to the casino, GGPoker.co.uk has everything you need.

Meanwhile, over at talkSPORT they believe United have been handed an ultimatum by Dortmund regarding Sancho after the German club set a ‘take-it-or-leave-it’ asking price of £77 million plus add-ons.
The report states that Dortmund wish to get the deal over the line by July 23, when the club begins pre-season preparation ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign.
