According to reports in Italy, Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot has made the decision to stay at AC Milan – the club he spent the 2020-21 season out on loan with.

That’s according to a recent report from TuttomercatoWeb, who claims the Portuguese full-back, who remains out-of-favour with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, would prefer to stay in Milan rather than return to Manchester.

Dalot, 22, was signed to United in 2018 by former manager Jose Mourinho.

However, after struggling to nail down a starting place in Mourinho’s successor’s first-team, Dalot was forced to spend last season out on loan in order to increase his playing time.

Having featured in 33 matches, in all competitions, for the Rosenari, Dalot, who directly contributed to five goals, now sees his long-term future speculated.

It has been reported that AC Milan would welcome Dalot back for a second spell, however, both the Italian club and the player are now waiting for the Red Devils to decide on whether or not they want to retain the Portuguese defender next season.
