The Frenchman is one of the first names on Didier Deschamp’s teamsheet and he proved just why 20 minutes into their maiden game in the ‘group of death’
Mats Hummels will be credited with the own goal but the move stems from Paul Pogba’s creative solution after wriggling himself free from a tight situation before finding Lucas Hernandez in space on the opposite side.

The goal gave the Frenchmen the all important lead and on their way towards securing three points. Les Bleus are heavy favorites to go all the way in the tournament, having convincingly won the World Cup in 2018.
France are set to face Bruno Fernandes’ Portugal next, a repeat of the final in Paris five years ago.
