In quite extraordinary scenes, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger was seen taking a chunk out of Paul Pogba’s shoulder in the first half of their two side’s opening Euro 2020 games.
The Germany defender was seen battling it out with Manchester United’s number six on numerous occasions but it got especially heated towards the end of the first half when Rudiger is pictured biting Paul Pogba.
The incident wasn’t seen by the officials on the field but a check from the VAR also eluded Paul Pogba, who complained to the linesman but was dismissed by the Spanish referee.

Incidents of biting have been punished in the past, with then Liverpool forward Luis Suarez handed a four-month ban from football after biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini in the 2014 World Cup.
It remains to seen if Rudiger will be punished for the absurd action but he’ll count his lucky stars to not be penalized by the referee on the pitch.
