Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms Man United will make summer signings

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the Red Devils will look to recruit this summer.

Despite the financial repercussions the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is having, United does appear to be one club looking to invest in their squad.

Heavily linked with several players, it has been widely reported that the Red Devils’ are hopeful they can add at least one centre-back to their ranks.

Other possible targets reportedly include Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Tripper, West Ham’s Declan Rice, Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane and of course, Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.

However, given the plethora of names linked with making a summer switch to Old Trafford, fans have once again been left wondering which targets the club will end up securing.

While it remains unknown exactly which players Solskjaer will pursue, the Norweigan has offered fans reassurances they will delve into the summer market once the window opens.

Speaking recently to TV2, the 42-year-old, when discussing the club’s summer plans, said: “We are second best, but too far behind to threaten those who won. Then we have to strengthen ourselves.

“Of course, something will happen in the transition window. The world has become very different than 15-16 months ago, but we have to make some moves on the transfer window, but also with the team.

“It is never possible to sit back. You are constantly looking for reinforcements. Football is dynamic, so unexpected things can happen such as injuries, illness, something familiar or that someone wants to move.

“You have to take everything possible into consideration and reflection. I will never sit down and think that ‘now the team is the way I want it to be’, because you always see some other players or other teams doing something you want.”

  1. Slightly concerned that a striker is not part of his plans I would of thought Martial would leave this summer. All do it could be part of a plan to fend off intrest from other clubs as we all know what happens when our transfer targets get leaked
