Manchester United have been pegged back in their pursuit of FC Nordsjaelland winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.
That’s according to a recent report from Football Insider, who claims that despite the Red Devils’ new football director, John Murtough, leading the club’s efforts to sign Sulemana, talks have failed to progress.
Although United are believed to have a strong interest in Sulemana, in an unfortunate turn of events, it appears Dutch side Ajax are now frontrunners to secure the highly-rated wide-man.
Sulemana, 19, joined FC Nordsjaelland just 18 months ago and has gone on to enjoy a remarkable rise.
After featuring in just 43 senior first-team matches, in all competitions, the teenage winger has already racked up an impressive 22 direct goal contributions.
The Ghanian attacker’s rich vein of form has recently seen him linked with a move to some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United.
Nordsjaelland chairman Tom Vernon is reportedly prepared to sell the Sulemana for just £15m.
However, according to Football Insider’s latest report, despite recently holding talks with the Danish side, United have been unable to reach a deal, leaving Ajax as the winger’s most realistic destination.
