Apparently Jack Grealish would prefer to join Manchester City if he leaves Aston Villa this summer, according to The Athletic.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who was linked with a switch to Old Trafford a year ago, is now edging to work under Pep Guardiola at Man City.

It is speculated that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer cooled his interest in the England international after signing Bruno Fernandes, and on the flank he appears to be prioritising speed.

United fans won’t be too bothered by this if the club can seal a deal to sign Jadon Sancho this summer.

It all looks great at City — pumping all that money in to win the Champions League, only for Guardiola to fall flat on his face at the final hurdle after deciding to drop a defensive midfielder. A decision that ultimately backfired and gloriously so.

At least for Guardiola’s sake he’s got another Premier League title to show for his work.

Grealish had to wait a while to break into the England set up and many are predicting a big Euro 2020 tournament from the Aston Villa playmaker. The question is will he get his transfer before or after the tournament?

He signed a new deal at Villa last year and they shouldn’t be under any pressure to sell him on the cheap.

  1. Villa’s owners have come out and said he’s not for sale at any price, If Grealish wanted to swap Villa for United he would have kicked up a stink at the price tag villa put on him when united were sniffing around him last year. He will give it another couple of seasons to see where villa are at before pushing for a move. United will end up with Sancho and city will end up with Kane.

  2. Grealish will not be leaving Villa this summer.. he is part of a project there and wants to give it at least one more year..
