Manchester City’s wait for a Champions League triumph goes on.
City were favourites going into last night’s final against Chelsea in Portugal.
Pep Guardiola took a huge gamble with his team selection as he left out Fernandinho and Rodri, his to primary holding midfielders, and it backfired as they lost 1-0 on the night thanks to a Kai Havertz goal in the first half.
Chelsea new manager Thomas Tuchel has a right to have a chip on his shoulder after his side stopped City from creating any real chances.
We were all delighted to see City fall flat on their face and one former United player by the name Patrice Evra trolled our rivals with a social media post:
The Frenchman took to Instagram where he posted an image of Sir Bobby Charlton looking at the European Cup, with Evra’s face photoshopped alongside him.
The text reads: “Sir Bobby can you check for City’s name again?
“Nope, still not here Pat… I love this game.”
Oasis singer Liam Gallagher appeared unhappy at the full-time whistle.
So, Evra wasn’t wasting an opportunity to hit back at the band because it’s not like the Gallagher brothers, all City fans, ever shut up talking about United.
