Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has travelled to Poland to cheer on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Reds in the Europa League final.

Rooney was in the United side that won the Europa League against Ajax back in 2017, and he was keen to upload a picture showing him and his son on a flight to Gdansk for social media.

What a fantastic experience it will be for his young lad — attending a European Cup final, a night when history is made.

The Derby County manager is enjoying some time off after narrowly avoiding relegation to the Championship this season.

Unfortunately, it’s only a short number of United fans who are set to attend the match, as per ongoing coronavirus restrictions, but I have no doubt that they will heard tonight.

Rooney also famously played a crucial role in our 2008 Champions League victory over Chelsea in Moscow, Russia.

No doubt his presence will be felt.
