Manchester United have set an asking price for Paul Pogba, according to The Mirror.
I had thought – from speaking to people close to all parties at the negotiation table – that the rumours were beginning to calm down when it came to Pogba’s future.
Although his contract expires at the end of next season, there’s a genuine feeling within the game that interest in Pogba is not what it once was and that could see him decide the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Stretty News understands the Frenchman is relaxed about his situation, but the latest from the Mirror suggests United are considering a sale to prevent the player from leaving on a Bosman 12 months from now.
The figure mentioned in the report is £55m, reportedly set by officials at the club.
He has played well since the turn of the year and I hope next season we can take the next step with him in the side, not that I’d lose any sleep if he forced his way out this summer.
