Speaking ahead of his side’s fierce away clash against rivals Manchester United, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been quick to heap the praise on young striker Mason Greenwood.
Continuing what is a gruelling nine days, comprising of four fixtures for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils, Thursday’s re-arranged Premier League clash against Liverpool is set to go ahead at Old Trafford.
After being forced to make 10 changes for his side’s most recent clash against Leicester City on Tuesday, Solskjaer’s starting line up against Liverpool is likely to feature more experienced first-team members.
Tuesday’s game, although eventually ending in a 2-1 defeat for United, saw teenage sensation Greenwood get among the goals, once again.
The 19-year-old’s latest contribution now sees him rack up a total of 12 goals and six assists, in all competitions, so far this season.
Speaking ahead of his side’s match on Thursday, Klopp took the time to hail Marcus Rashford while also piling the praise on Greenwood.
“That’s a good mix – age-wise, I would say that’s a really good mix,” Klopp said. “The offensive potential they have obviously.
“How old is Marcus [Rashford]? – 21, 22, 23. So he looks quite young but obviously, he’s very experienced.
“But Mason Greenwood, absolutely exceptional offensive talent.
“One of this English generation of offensive players which is absolutely incredible.”
