According to recent reports, West Ham United are ‘keeping tabs’ on Manchester United duo Nemanja Matic and Phil Jones.
David Moyes, a former United manager, has taken midfielder Jesse Lingard on a short term loan, however, despite what has been a hugely successful six months for the English attacker, the Hammers are understood to be struggling to make the switch permanent.
However, despite struggling for finances, according to a recent report from Eurosport, the Londoners are also keen to land defender Jones and veteran midfielder Matic.
United would probably be open to offloading both players, given both their age and the number of appearances they’ve put in so far this season (34 combined).
Problems may arise though, as both players are expected to demand upwards of £120,000-per week – a figure West Ham are likely to be unable to commit to.
Whether or not United would offer to contribute a percentage of their player’s wages remains to be seen, but given their desire to push for the title next season, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some outgoings once the summer window opens.
