According to recent reports, Manchester United are one of four Premier League clubs interested in signing Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Maitland-Niles, 23, joined Arsenal’s youth academy all the way back in 2003.
Since climbing the club’s ranks, Maitland-Niles has gone on to feature in 121 senior first-team matches.
However, after struggling to nail down a position in the club’s first-team plans, the versatile Englishman was allowed to join West Brom on a short-term loan earlier this year.
Despite featuring 12 times for West Brom, the Baggies will not be seeking a permanent move following their relegation to the Championship – the young full-back is now set to return to Arsenal once the campaign officially comes to an end.
However, according to a recent report from the Daily Mail, several top-flight clubs have already expressed an interest in the 23-year-old.
It has been claimed that Southampton, Leeds United, Everton and United are all keen on Maitland-Niles.
Although it is unclear at this stage how much the Gunners may demand for their outcast full-back, with just two years left on his contract, surely the Englishman would be available for a modest price.
Given how versatile he is, echoed by the fact he can play both at right-back and in central midfielder, Maitland-Niles could prove to be a valuable squad option.
