Manchester United predicted XI v Roma: Solskjaer set to make four key changes

Manchester United face AS Roma in the Europa League semi-finals tonight, with the first-leg taking place at an empty Old Trafford.

After drawing 1-1 against Leeds United on Sunday, the Reds will look to put that behind them with a win that would give them an advantage going into the second-leg next Thursday night.

Roma are ninth in Serie A but seem to have put their ultimate focus on winning the Europa League this season. We’ve already eliminated AC Milan, who have since dropped in the Italian standings from second to fifth, so there can be no excuses made before the tie kicks off tonight.

In goal will be David de Gea, and he’ll have a back four of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw.

I can’t see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tinkering too much in midfield, so it will be Fred and Scott McTominay sitting at the base with Bruno Fernandes pushed further forward. We could see Paul Pogba played out on the left to join the Portuguese playmaker, which could see Marcus Rashford either switch to or start from the right.

Up top will be Edinson Cavani.

SN’s XI: De Gea; AWB, Maguire, Bailly, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; Rashford, Fernandes, Pogba; Cavani.
