Strettycast #110 – Webby & O’Neill – Backing Solskjaer and update on Declan Rice pursuit

Welcome to another Strettycast, the Manchester United podcast, with Webby & O’Neill joining me to talk about the latest stories as we look to finish the current season strongly.

In this episode I chat to Webby & O’Neill about their terrific YouTube channel, set up with the aim of bringing enthusiasm back to United fans. Both of them are supportive of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, like myself, and feel he’s the best man for the job.

Tony O’Neill tells the Strettycast that if Harry Kane leaves Tottenham this summer, the England captain will join Chelsea, not United as he’s settled and happy living in London.

“We don’t believe [Daniel] Levy will let him go,” O’Neill said.

“But if he does go, he will go to Chelsea. He doesn’t want to run around or go abroad, he doesn’t seem the type because he wants to stay at home. A home boy by the looks of it, very quiet and doesn’t want the fuss.

“He won’t need to move home or anything like that, with a young family and he is settled in London – just down the road from Chelsea. They need a striker and it is ideal for him to move there.

“He will go to Chelsea if he leaves because it suits him down to the ground and it suits Chelsea. The one big signing they need.”

On Jesse Lingard, the lads explain why the England midfielder appears to have found his level at West Ham, with O’Neill adding: “He will never get a long run in our team because teams come to Old Trafford and set up defensively. “No team sets up defensively against West Ham. That’s why he’s looking good because he’s got more freedom to run around.”

The conversation moved on to a point where we spoke about United’s position from the negotiation table and having a player West Ham and other clubs will want to sign in the summer.

“The deal as far as I’m concerned has already been done,” O’Neill continued. “Me and Webby spoke on our YouTube channel, before anyone else months ago, about Solskjaer looking at Declan Rice. Months before anybody said anything. Suddenly, Lingard goes to West Ham.

“That means that the two clubs have had conversations and nobody seen Lingard going to West Ham on loan. Suddenly just happened. This club and West Ham have already had conversations about Declan Rice and also Lingard.

“They’ve already had the conversation. I believe Declan Rice because me and Webby said Solskjaer fancied him four months ago, and we believe these conversations have gone on. We’ve had little chats with people, so don’t be surprised if Declan Rice comes here. Trust me.”

  1. Declan Rice. Laughable story. Man u have been told not going to happen. But the desperate straw clutching goes on. Just like it did with Chelsea and nothing happened, And nothing will happen this time. As your man who says who knows it all said trust me ! I wouldnt. As soon as people-anyone -start saying trust me they are desperate for people to believe them. It has been made very clear Declan Rice will not be going to Manu or anywhere else this summer. But hey lets create a “STORY”

  2. I think Declan Rice will move this summer and i for one hope it’s to united! They will turn him into a box to box midfielder like Roy Keane was! Here’s hoping!
