Man Utd duo make WhoScored Premier League Team of the Month

Manchester United go into the month of April placed second in the Premier League and with a place in the Europa League quarter-finals. The ongoing international break saw a reduced schedule for the clubs but WhoScored has still managed to produce a Premier League team of the month.

Among the requirements, along with tons of statistics, is the need to have played 3 Premier League matches in March. Two United players made the great and both play in defence, which is an area of the team that has been heavily scrutinised this season.

WhoScored Premier League team of the month: Illan Meslier; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Andreas Christensen, Harry Maguire, Joao Cancelo, Riyad Mahrez, Wilfred Ndidi, Kevin De Bruyne, Leandro Trossard, Harry Kane, Kelechi Iheanacho.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

The Manchester United right-back doesn’t seem to get the praise he deserves because he isn’t a typical modern full-back who likes to get forward. However, to his benefit, none of the begrudges could name a better tackler at full-back in the top-flight.

Wan-Bissaka didn’t have any internationals to worry about so he should be refreshed and ready for another strong performance when the lads host Brighton at the weekend.

Harry Maguire

Gets his share of criticism and knows more is expected from him as Manchester United captain. I don’t think he’s as bad as social media makes out, nor do I think he’s warranted becoming the world’s most expensive defender… He has shown better form of late for both United and England, so fingers crossed the club can find the perfect defensive partner for Maguire in the summer transfer window.
