Manchester United fans have not given hope of Jadon Sancho and hijacked an interaction between the Borussia Dortmund forward and Marcus Rashford on social media.
Sancho was celebrating his 21st birthday on Wednesday, the same day as England’s World Cup qualifier against San Marino at Wembley.
The forward shares a good relationship with United star Rashford and was sent a birthday tweet by his England international teammate.
Supporters predictably flooded the comments section, reiterating their desire to see Sancho alongside Rashford in a red shirt next season.
Sancho’s proposed move to Old Trafford that never materialised was the transfer saga of 2020 but it is unclear whether United will continue their pursuit this summer.
The winger has enjoyed another impressive season at Dortmund, netting 12 goals and contributing 16 assists.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should still be prioritising a right-winger in the summer transfer window as United still don’t have a proven specialist in the position regardless of the progress and potential of teenager Amad.
The Manchester Evening News report that Sancho’s Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland is United’s top striker target this summer but a right-sided forward should still be considered.
