Manchester United have fans have been delighted to hear the news that talented young midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has committed his long-term future to the club.
The 18-year-old was signed from Monaco in 2019 and has impressed within the youth ranks at Old Trafford.
Hannibal has been fast-tracked into Neil Wood’s U23 side and has been a regular this season, netting four goals and registering seven assists.
His progression has been rewarded with a new contract that was announced officially by the club on Monday. United described the contract as long-term but did not specify exactly how long the deal is.
Hannibal has shown glimpses of supreme talent starting at Leigh Sports Village for the U23 side this term and it may not be long before he is afforded a first-team chance by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United’s proud tradition of handing academy prospects opportunities continued last month when Shola Shoretire was rewarded with a Premier League debut in the victory over Newcastle.
There is a clear focus on developing stars for the future and United fans are pleased with the encouraging news relating to one of their most promising talents.
A season-long loan move could be beneficial for the teenager next season as United aim to accelerate his development.
