Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lauded the performance level of Anthony Martial after inspiring another Manchester derby victory at the Etihad.
United ended City’s 21-game winning run with a brilliant 2-0 victory, their third consecutive triumph at the home of Pep Guardiola’s side.
Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw scored the decisive goals but there were several notable performers in a complete performance from Solskjaer’s men.
Martial has been maligned for his performances in recent months but won the penalty for Fernandes’ opener and that set the tone for a great display.
The Frenchman could only be criticised for profligate finishing when one-on-one with City goalkeeper Ederson in the second-half.
Solskjaer described Martial as ‘absolutely superb’ and suggested that he ‘rediscovered himself’ with his strength and positivity in possession.
