(Video) Solskjaer explains Cavani’s absence ahead of Manchester derby

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that striker Edinson Cavani has been ruled out of Sunday’s Manchester derby through injury.

United are set to take-on arch-rivals City in what is one of the season’s highlight fixtures.

However, despite naming a strong starting 11, fans have been quick to question why star-striker Cavani has not been awarded a place in the squad.

Speaking ahead of the tense clash, Solskjaer has revealed that his experienced South American recently picked up an injury during a training session.

It is not yet known the extent of Cavani’s injury and when fans can expect him to return but make no mistake, this is a big opportunity for Anthony Martial to win pockets of fans’ hearts back.
