We know what happened with Angel Gomes after he decided against not signing a new contract at the club. It was clear from his point of view that opportunities weren’t coming his way in the same way they were for Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood. However, Tahith Chong decided to stay and try make a name for himself at Manchester United.
The same grey area surrounds Arnau Puigmal. He has been overlooked for the first team and his contract is winding down.
He’s one of the best players in United’s U23s and has scored seven goals from midfield this season, while also providing three assists.
A claim from the Manchester Evening News states that Puigmal will be released at the end of the season, as it currently stands.
We can’t add to that report yet because it’s not very clear if Puigmal is pushing for an exit or if it’s a matter of him not being offered a new contract by the club?
At 20, Puigmal is not part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans and it looks like Shola Shoretire and Hannibal Mejbri are ahead of him in the pecking order.
A report from Sport in Spain recently reported interest from Barcelona with the newspaper describing him as an ‘outstanding talent’.
