Romelu Lukaku opens up on relationship with Solskjaer

Romelu Lukaku has made some nice comments about his former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Twitter.

The Belgian striker spent nine months under Solskjaer at Old Trafford after the Norwegian replaced Jose Mourinho in December 2018.

He was clearly asked a different question to ‘do you want to move back to Manchester and play under Ole again,’ because Lukaku is on course to win the Serie A title this season and he’s one goal (current tally of 17) behind Cristiano Ronaldo (18) in the goalscoring charts.

Still, we’ll take the positive feedback as a nice gesture.

I’m not under the impression it ended positively at United for Lukaku, and that doesn’t necessary mean he fell out with Solskjaer, who he still thinks highly of.

Lukaku was sold to Inter Milan in Solskjaer’s first summer as manager.

In a Twitter Q&A, Lukaku answered a question about his views on how Solskjaer is doing at Old Trafford and what their time working together was like.

“He is doing great,” Lukaku said. “You guys have to know I love him as a manager and as a person and I wish him nothing but the best.”
