Manchester Evening News reporter Samuel Luckhurst claims David de Gea will start in goal for Manchester United against Newcastle, tonight in the 7pm kick-off.

The report comes via MEN’s live blog for United v Newcastle and states: The understanding is David de Gea is back in goal for United today.”

Dean Henderson is knocking on the door for first team football and is pretty certain to start on Thursday in the second-leg Europa League against Real Sociedad, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is about to keep his trust in De Gea.

I still think Henderson needs to prove himself a lot more in a United shirt before becoming first choice keeper, but that’s not going to happen unless he gets a proper run of games under his belt.

Solskjaer is appearing to side with De Gea but will that change before the end of the season?

Only time will tell.
