Fabrizio Romano has today reiterated that Manchester United have not contacted the agent of Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, who is seemingly available on a Bosman this summer.
It would take a deal like the one Chelsea struck last summer to sign former PSG centre-back Thiago Silva, who has brought a wealth of experience with him into the Premier League this season.
Personally, I would prefer to see United sign one a young centre-back. Someone who is on the cusp of greatness or the elite level we crave in defence alongside Harry Maguire.
10 days ago, Romano reported that United are yet to decide their real centre-back target for the summer, with PSG keen to land Ramos on a free. However, in mid-January, Ian McGarry from the Transfer Window Podcast claimed that Ramos’ brother/agent informed Real Madrid that United had been in contact over the player’s uncertain future, as per CaughtOffside.
Reports in Italy today suggest United and City will battle it out this summer for Kalidou Koulibaly’s signature.
Romano has reiterated claims that United have not been in contact with Ramos’ entourage.
Again. Manchester United have *not* contacted Sergio Ramos agent. There’s nothing with Man Utd, as of today. Still the same situation. 🔴 #mufc https://t.co/oqyZI9loi4

Defensive frailties have been the norm for United this season and something must change in the summer. We still have Phil Jones on our books but thankfully managed to get rid of Marcos Rojo in the January transfer window when he moved to Boca Juniors.
