Another Strettycast for your long drive home, afternoon break or to compliment tomorrow morning’s breakfast. Manchester United made hard work of their fifth-round tie against West Ham but got the job done in extra-time.

We’re happy with the result but less so with the performance.

For my perspective, West Ham were so naive that the game was always going to be a snore-fest. United were just very patient in their build-up play, too nice and happy to play sideway passes when better options were on.

It seems like the only midfielder who wants to take risks is Bruno Fernandes. He doesn’t care too much for his passing success rate after 90 minutes. Why should he if there’s a goal(s) or an assist(s) to talk about?

Fernandes didn’t assist or score the only goal against West Ham. That was Scott McTominay.

McTominay’s goal in extra-time was enough to send United into the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The Scotland international came on as a substitute at the same time as Fernandes. Neither player had a problem shooting from outside the box, while others were trying to run the ball across the goal-line and into traffic.
