Video: Rashford reacts after passing Cantona in Man Utd’s list of goalscorers

Marcus Rashford jumped ahead of Eric Cantona and closed in on David Beckham on Manchester United’s list of goalscorers tonight with his finish against Southampton.

It was his 83rd goal for Manchester United and saw him move ahead of The King.

Rashford big moment in the game, which United won 9-0, came in the 25th minute against a 10-man Southampton side who lost Alex Jankewitz after he was sent off for a horrific tackle on Scott McTominay.

After Aaron Wan-Bissaka opened the scoring for the Reds, Rashford doubled United’s lead after being picked out inside the box by Mason Greenwood.

Rashford is currently 2 goals behind but has some way to go before he matches Wayne Rooney’s record of 253 goals for the club.

When asked about passing Cantona in United’s list of goalscorers, Rashford said: “I just want to score more goals and keep helping the team.”

He also urged his teammates to focus on themselves rather than seek results elsewhere.

Rashford spoke out about racism, too, in the BT Sport post-match interview below:
