Solskjaer confirms when Amad Diallo will make first Manchester United appearance

Fans are set to get a first sight of Amad Diallo in a Manchester United shirt on MUTV tomorrow.

Manchester United U23s take on Liverpool in the Premier League 2, with kick-off at 1pm, with Neil Wood taking the boys to Merseyside. The perfect way to tee-up your Saturday evening before United travel to the Emirates.

Diallo is set to make his first appearance for the club, after training with the first team squad, but this is arguably the best way to show the Ivorian youngster how football is played in England.

“Yes, Amad will play in the game against Liverpool in the Under-23s,” Solskjaer exclusively told MUTV.

“He’s been training really well and settling in. He’s ready to get some game-time and match exposure.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him. [Liverpool?] There you go. Welcome to English football!”

He didn’t feature very often for Atalanta’s first team — making a total of 5 appearances — but everyone takes time to adjust.

Then there’s players like Bruno Fernandes who adapt to the Premier League like a fish in water. Admittedly off-point, but ESPN ran a report today claiming Solskjaer wanted Jack Grealish before signing Fernandes last year.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the U23s tomorrow night, so for more updates make sure you are following @StrettyNews on Twitter.
