Ryan Giggs has revealed Daniel James’ frustration over his lack of playing time at Manchester United this season.

With the Reds improving across the pitch, several players find themselves in the same boat as Daniel James and I don’t think it’s gong to get any easier.

The 23-year-old made 46 appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season but just 10 so far this term. That’s a big drop off and I think Solskjaer would privately admit that James played more games last season that anyone could have imagined. A year on and our scouts are still looking for that perfect right winger to make the side’s attack more potent.

A loan move has been subjected by the media but in the public eye it was never entertained by the manager. Perhaps selfishly, Solskjaer must priorities the team and make sure he has enough cover if injuries take a toll on the squad at any stage this season.

Ryan Giggs will see it a completely other way as James’ international manager.

The Wales boss understands the winger’s frustrations, but insists his only option is to work hard and make the mist of any chances he’s given.

Giggs told Stadium Astro: “We are in unknown territory. Where you don’t have a lot of time. A lot of games squeezed into a short space of time.

“So, I think Ole would take the safe option and keep as many quality players in the club as he can.

“Yes, it would be frustrating. I know that Dan is frustrated. Just like any other player who isn’t getting regular football.

“But when you are at a big club like United when you get the chance take it.”

I also think Giggs will understand Solskjaer’s position, with how well United have done under his guidance this season. He’s still got a big task at hand to deliver but the fans are very much with him every step of the way.
